The West Aquatics Foundation is dedicated to transforming lives through aquatic sports by providing underprivileged children in Kenya’s informal settlements with access to swimming lessons. Our programs will focus on teaching water safety, developing essential swimming skills, and nurturing talent. By creating opportunities for children to pursue swimming as a sport, we aim to inspire personal growth and open pathways for them to compete at the highest levels.
LOGO - Why a wave?
WEST Aquatics Foundation logo, a "sea wave", symbolises several things, based on our mission and values:
Opportunity and Transformation:
A wave represents the transformative power of water, reflecting how swimming can open doors for underprivileged children, allowing them to rise above their circumstances.
Momentum for Growth:
Just as waves grow and move with energy, the foundation seeks to build momentum in the lives of these children, helping them progress both in swimming and personal development.
Strength and Resilience:
Waves embody strength and perseverance, symbolising the courage and determination required to overcome challenges—qualities that the foundation nurtures in its programs.
Inclusivity and Connection:
Waves connect distant shores, symbolising the foundation's goal of bridging gaps and creating a sense of unity and inclusion among children from marginalised communities.
Inspiration and Aspiration:
The wave reflects a source of inspiration, encouraging children to dream big, explore their potential, and aim for excellence, much like when a wave reaches its peak.
Safety and Mastery:
Waves also evoke the aquatic environment where children will learn essential skills, including water safety, building their confidence, and reducing risks associated with water.
